A leading E-Commerce company with strict data privacy and security requirements was in need of certified on-site hard drive shredding services for over 2,000 hard drives.
As an E-Commerce provider who accepted online payments, the client needed to ensure they were in compliance with PCI requirements when decommissioning their legacy data center hardware. In particular, the customer had to ensure all customer payment data was secured and destroyed prior to leaving their data center.
Certified On-Site Hard Drive Shredding, Data Destruction, Regulatory Compliance, Certificate of Destruction, Professional Liability Insurance
ITEC is an industry leader when it comes to hard drive and media data destruction services, and offers both on-site and off-site erasure, shredding and degaussing services. At ITEC we customize our data destruction services to our customers’ specific requirements, and follow industry best practices. ITEC is certified by the National Association of Information Destruction, NAID, for on-site hard drive and media destruction, and backs-up our data destruction services with Professional Liability Insurance and Certificates of Destruction.
ITEC enabled our client to meet their strict data security and privacy requirements, and maintain PCI compliance by providing certified on-site hard drive shredding at the client’s data center. The first step in the process was for ITEC’s NAID Certified technicians to remove all hard drives from their respective systems, and serial number scan each individual hard drive.
Once all the hard drive serial numbers had been recorded, ITEC’s data destruction technicians loaded the hard drives into secure storage bins, where the hard drives were then transported to the data center loading dock, and loaded onto ITEC’s custom hard drive shredding truck, and destroyed according to D.O.D. and NIST guidelines. The destruction of the customer’s hard drives was fast and secure. ITEC uses a high volume shredder, and was able to destroy all 2,000 hard drives in half a day.
Upon completion of the destruction, ITEC supplied our customer with a Certificate of Destruction detailing the serial number of each destroyed hard drive, and ensured all PCI compliance requirements were maintained.
